Football’s most prestigious individual honour will be awarded this weekend, with the best men’s and women’s player of this past year announced.
In the women's category, Aitana Bonmatí is favoured to win her second consecutive Ballon d'Or title. During an exclusive interview at the launch of EA Sports FC 25, Aitana said that being nominated again this year is "a source of pride".
Controversy and rumour hit the men's category as the shortlist is without Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time since 2003. Vinícius Júnior, Rodri, or Bellingham could be Messi's successor to the 2024 award.
